Ivan's face when he watches Till running back to their captors is so heartbreaking. Like he expected this from Till, and worse yet, he knows he himself will run after him. Adoration and frustration culminating in a sad, resigned longing.

I just noticed that Till being unconscious for almost the entire song is reflective of his ignorance to Ivan’s real feelings for him. Till only woke near the end in the same sense he only realized at the last minute how Ivan had loved him all this time. Sweet parallels

aw man... just realized that one of the ways the alien oppressors kept control over their human pet contestants was to have them form genuine bonds and friendships in childhood so that they would be reluctant to escape without them... because it's easier to escape on your own VS the much more impossible task of saving your friends. Such an effective but insidious method of control..

I love how this video actually confirms a previous theory! During this song, Ivan allows another person to sing, meaning the whole time the songs are meant to be sung by sections by each person. This means the white hair dude (2nd video) took up all the song time. Whilst the 2 girls sung their song together as a duet to try and trick the system into getting the same score (and failed), which makes me wanna cry more :((

You would do that.” Because that kind of tenacity and stubborn devotion despite all the odds stacked against Til is why he fell in love with the boy. It just hurts because it will never be for him.

Ivan really looked like chasing a wild cat. A cat that's impossible for Ivan to tame. But Ivan still tries to get attention from it, by letting the cat hurts him. Rather than feeling blue, he's happy that he finally got the cat attention even though it's harming him.

I absolutely LOVE 2:47 where it looks like Ivan accidentally let his actual emotions slip into his singing, and he immediately tries to compose himself. The sorrow in his face turning to frustration, then finally to his usual cool apathetic expression. That's sooo gorgeous

tbh i didnt expect myself to be this attached to ivan. When he was first introduced in the alien stage trailer i thought that he's the smooth and manipulative type of character. But looking at his round i somehow find him quite relatable. He might seems quite apathetic but he's actually just bottling up his feelings, his love and admiration for till, and his sorrow...

Ivan's backstory as I understand it is: - he was owned by an abusive merchant (the alien who held him over the edge of the roof) - you can see them auction him off when there's that blue square behind him (you can see the other kids next in line, as well as an alien holding a mic), -he gets bought and pampered by a rich alien (we see rich alien at 2:12; the hand matches the hand that was on our boy at 1:12, he just doesn't look as big because he's next to other big aliens) - he gets shown off to the rich alien's other rich friends (he's holding what looks like an award or maybe that's the invitation to join the singing camp/boarding school) - he was put by rich alien in Anakt Garden, a singing boarding school (which seems to be a required prerequisite to joining the ALIEN STAGE contest. Can't join the contest otherwise) -Till and Mizi accidentally run towards an exit(?)/forbidden area when they were chasing a flower crown that got blown by the wind--a guard dog alien beats Till up. - he's amazed as Till FIGHTS BACK against the alien (compared to himself whose always been passive), and probably continued to be amazed by Till's continued rebellion beyond this point. - inspired by Till, he later tries to escape and run away with him during a meteor shower as his first act of rebellion, but Till presumably doesn't wanna leave Mizi behind and goes back. - our boy laughs bittersweetly and heads back as well since his inspiration + love + reason for trying to escape in the first place just went back.
