To anyone else who is thinking of doing tutorials - do what this guy did. Go step by step. Don't go too fast. If you are going to call it a tutorial for beginners, don't assume your audience knows anything. Don't tell me how to do one thing two or three different ways. If you make a mistake, and start jumping around, go back and redo that section. Provide a simple model that is correct. I'm completely new to computer animation, old, and not someone who likes anything to do with computers, but I was able to follow this tutorial. Good job Envato Tuts+. Thank you!
Hey man, just wanted to say Thank you. Thanks to you I am now able to do something I've wanted to for many years, and thus I've acquired a skill I'm in love with. Some of the 2D animations I've created have gotten huge praise from the community I'm part of. For the first time in my life, I learned and worked on something, and got praise for it, which has given me a feeling happiness and achievement I have never experienced before. You've literally opened a whole world to me. Thank you!🥰
Great tutorial! Heaps of fun learning to do this. Just 2 tips for anyone watching: at 27:37 he mentions going to 'Edit Mode' but you'll notice that he stays in 'Object Mode'. As I found out the hard way, making changes to the ball in Edit Mode causes some complications in the animation (the ball doesn't scale smoothly); so stay in Object Mode like he does. Also, when he's adjusting the speed of the animation at 32:12, make sure to click and drag the mouse to select all the keyframes before pressing the s key. Hope this helps!
To get the circle left click and hold on the square . For people using 4.3 and above
Thank you for creating and sharing this step by step tutorial to create basic 2d animation using grease pencil. Very useful for starting from scratch with no prior knowledge about Blender.
My teacher sent me this video and you explained it in a way that was so understanding. Thanks so much for the video.
Have been struggling with the basics on grease pencil and this is the biggest help. Thank you.
First day of learning animation and got so much information in just 30 minutes. Amazing!!!
Thanks for the video! It's a good starter project. One issue I ran into was I was in EDIT mode when I went to change the keyframes, and you need to be in OBJECT mode, or it won't animate between keyframes (in case anyone else runs into this issue).
19:38 you can also use the Arc or Curve tools when you get used to these tools :)
The first animation I ever did in Blender (and ever, for that matter), was also a bouncing ball. However, I used onion skinning and it yielded better results (in my opinion). Will you be doing a tutorial on onion skinning as well? Would love to see it!
this is very detailed and easy to follow ^^ thank you for the video!
27:45 He was meant to say Object Mode I think.
Thank you very much sir for your great work:face-green-smiling:
Best teacher ever! God bless you!
I am very satisfied with your lessons, you explain everything in great detail, perfect for beginners like me.
Very good.... I am satisfied with the way you explained with each and every thing in details and step by step... THANKS BRO... Thanks a lot....
Goosebumps😱
11:29 if you are using Blender 3.4, the add new layer button is now on the right hand side above the viewport transform. Thanks for the tutorial :)
