Hoyo just released 'Known Issues' note that states: "March 21 - There is a known issue while triggering a Dodge after the 4th hit of Agent Soldier 0 - Anby's Basic Attack, where the timing of the Dodge and the detection of Agent Soldier 0 - Anby's hit status during the 5th Basic Attack are abnormal. There is a known issue regarding the trigger timing of Agent Soldier 0 - Anby's Special Attack when it is used after a Dodge. The above issues will be fixed in an update next week."
I actually love Anby’s playstyle! She’s the just staying on field and dealing massive dmg. But sometimes it’s just frustrating when I accidentally hold ex special instead of the normal aftershock one
I definitely agree that there's something wrong with Anby's dodge. I don't know if it's iframes or unresponsiveness, but she often gets hit when she shouldn't. I sometimes need to spam dodge for attacks a different agent could dodge in one move. Despite that, I am very happy with my Anby. 10/10 would pull again. I would also say that while she's not exactly a must-pull - no one aside from Miyabi and Astra is - Anby is an amazing DPS you won't regret pulling. She really needs her WE to truly pop off though.

the awkward dodge stuff ive only noticed in the new shiyu boss and not many other places, so I kinda believe that its some buggy programming with the new elite enemy instead of being an anby issue, I've been doing shiyu 7 with Yanagi and its not just dodges feel off there, but also yanagi's parry has felt like it happens way later in the enemy attack than I feel like it should, which means something is wrong with the registry of attacks there.
In the new event, playing Anby+Trigger+Astra feels so good, Anby doesn't need Trigger at all, but she does feel incomplete whitout her

S.Anby's Basic Attack String has this 1 move where she steps back and i cannot stress enough how much times she steps back into danger or a random mob with a gun staggers her ruining the combo right when its about to hit the sick ass dash

4:50 I've definitely noticed it. I haven't fought him with other characters yet, but it feels like his combos made to lock you in once you're hit. Both fighting him and in other modes, it feels like you can't simply cancel her attacks by dodging; you're pretty much locked in the animation for certain attacks
I really agree with everything you've said and experienced it all. Some stuff with Anby really feels buggy or not functional the way it supposed to (EVEN tho i'm sure that's the way they intended her to work and not gonna fix it which sucks). And it really is sad because there's Myiabi running around broken af but they have to hold out on someone like Anby of all people. Things like the dodge with both Anby and Pulchra feels extremely hard to pull off in these fast based fights unlike the other characters like Myiabi and Jane for example (But to me this feels intentional since those two characters have their own special dodges ulike how Anby doesn't have). Then there's the EX special of Anby that have the potential to miss, i do believe this is a bug because there's no way she has this massive draw back that literally stops her DPS from functioning. Myiabi for example doesn't lose her frost stacks when her EX special misses the enemies. There are a lot of weird stuff with Anby and one thing is the targeting system for her maxed out marks, whenever there are two or more enemies and one of them have a max mark and the other doesn't, she should at least prioritize that enemy with all her 3 dash attacks and not switch between them because she really lose a lot of damage since if you delay the dashes the game thinks that the mark is incomplete so you don't have the max damage from her passive i think. I ranted a lot but yea Anby doesn't need Trigger because i need Trigger xd
We have off-field stunner and DD. Now we need on-filed supporter to for complete 180° role reversal.
I will be pulling trigger because anby is my fav character and I recommend doing a double chain attack with sanby to fill up her gauge faster.
They posted and acknowledged that the dodge is not triggering correctly after her 4th and 5th hit. They said it’s going to be fixed next week. I’m interested to see how she feels afterwards!

LOL That being said 0Anby isnt broken or unfinnished and seems odd because of her timing and the marks being on the target instead of static in the upper corner, but when shes moving around i think animation wise is why its jarring as shes doing dash moves that would be stall out openings like Yanagi and Miyabi.... So think of it like Trigger uses a similar button control methodoligy as Harumasa almost copy pasted, and Anby0 is a mix of Jane/Mata-Yanagi/Miyabi animations and switchups so its supposed to be a timeing animation hiccup. Otherwise like in that mode where you get to use all 3 Pulcra,0and Trigthicness.. it shows a combo system of all out abuse which is the point of her dodge being off. Least from a first viewing it in motion sort of thing. But good video keep it up.
On initial release, I agree SS Anby feels underwhelming & incomplete. The story mode though with Pulchra & Trigger felt amazing, so she will feel and perform a lot better once Trigger releases 😀
You’re actually not the only one that thinks this. There is a huge drama in cn rn about how she is horrible to play and her dodges doesn’t feel nice. There are apparently times when you can get hit out of your ult too (personally never experienced this). We shall see if she will receive an update from the devs regarding this.
