When in grade school, I was taught that no person was above the law. Even the president could be jailed for breaking it. Then along came a couple of men with enough money to buy Congress, and all those vaunted principles died in political self-interest. So much for honour and patriotism. Drumpf has done us a favour. We were complacent with our trade deals with the US. They were easy. We trusted them. Now, we are looking at far flung trade opportunities that will be much more to our advantage. I have always been very proud to be a Canadian. It never moreso than now. That twit has galvanized our once quiet patriotism to our people becoming loud and proud about it. Unlike our neighbours to the south under DJT, we go about our business without being braggadocious like the USIANS (I refuse to call them Americans anymore. We on this continent are all Americans: North, Central and South. Amerigo Vespucci is responsible). As a result, the things being discussed here about our trade deals around the world have been made possible. We are consistent, calm and unagressive. And … we have Dr. MARK CARNEY. I believe he will lead us to become if not a super-power, a major contender out in the world. So, Drumpf is pretty much responsible for changing his country’s once dominant status in the world. No longer. Countries will not trust his see-saw approach to trade. He is intellectually challenged, and refused to be told that he does not understand what tariffs are. I guess no one else has the courage to tell him that HE IS WRONG. The problem with him is that he simply does not care to follow the rules. He should be in jail. Is he? No. And why not? I do not understand. So he has “learned” that he can get away with it. This is also why he was desperate to become president so he would not end up in the slammer. So we Canadians will quietly contribute to shifting the global trade map to our advantage whilst Drumpf tariffs everyone and drops bombs on them. Yes, the art of the deal. 🇨🇦🍁💪🏼🇨🇦🍁💪🏼

I want the USA to ask... Why do you think al these country are making deals with Canada (us)? Why do you think that is? Canada was not playing 3D chess, we are not stabbing america in the back, we are not getting revenge. They came to Canada and asked we welcomed them in, and had grown up discussions. We spoke of the current instability of the world how we can avert the disaster that is the States, hand in hand.

As a 71 year old Canadian, I really can't remember a time when the US wasn't embroiled in a war, disruption of some kind. It is just the nature of the beast. I remember Kent State and the Vietnam war, the Cold War, Martin L. King and the Civil Rights movement, Iraq, Afghanistan, 9-11 and Watergate. Really, when has the US ever been a calm, safe, responsible country that provided care for its citizens - NEVER. Nothing has changed and nothing ever will until they change their right to bear arms, change their judiciary so that crimes are punishable. Remember OJ Simpson, one of the greatest miscarriages of justice. We have always shaken our heads at our neighbours wondering why is it so hard to do the right thing for a country that claims to be Christian. Everything is always so over the top. I am sorry to say that I don't think there is any coming back from this. Viva Canada! 🇨🇦
