A beautiful list with 80's song. So Let the Day Begin. From number 15 to 21 is the best part. In 1990 i was 19 [Paul Hardcastle] π π³π±
Great mix of some tunes I loved but forgot about! (side note: I never heard of Joy Division until fairly recently. Their music never made it to the Midwest, USA, at least not to Iowa. Is it just me, or had you all heard of them in the '80s?)
Great Mix, brings me back to the dorm life and my first apartment at Central Michigan University. Great memories
you dirty S.O.B.:face-orange-frowning:, you nearly made me cry. :eyes-purple-crying:i didn't realize how much i missed the 80's :hand-orange-covering-eyes::face-pink-tears::eyes-pink-heart-shape::thanksdoc::thanksdoc::thanksdoc: it was the quality i think that hit me the most. so of course, i had to save it to my playlist. tyvm i lost several of my former classmates in the 80's, actual friends. was a pallbearer for one and his parents seemed to blame me for his death, like i was bad influence on him. they wouldn't even let me stay for the funeral, just carry the casket and get out of there. they did not believe he was the instigator of every wild idea we acted on. like wearing shorts and take tops to go to the movies during a very bad and cold winter. i think it was "Spies Like Us". there were maybe 12-15 people in the theatre. such a dumb but memorable thing to do. jeez, now i am crying trying to remember what movie it was. π he drove a '63 VW Bug with no heat, it was So Cold, and then a little over a year later he was crushed by a cement truck after hitting black ice on the way to work. that was 40 years ago and i still feel it all. it was like a betrayal of our friendship. but hell 80's music is for dancing not crying.
A bomb of exits!!

I hear this music and I remember how lost I was. I was the one with the mysterious smile and no one ever knew what I was really feeling. not even me because until I left home I had never been allowed to feel. and no matter how hard I tried I never did anything right. 3 decades later and nothing has changed. the whole atmosphere of the world changed in the late 80's. it became more chaotic. Rodney King happened. blacks began getting crazy. crack cocaine was invented. the world started letting athletes do whatever they wanted and still worship them. bad began to be rewarded instead of good. i was really naive.
I'm skipping right to Purple Rain and cranking it. π
That story is sad AF. I am glad he had you as a friend. I am hoping he is sitting on the fluffiest of clouds with his headphones on, jamming to all the songs he loved, while looking down on the people who loved him. RIP
Nothing Compares 2 U - SinΓ©ad O'Connor (Jan 1990) "Nothing Compares 2 U" was written by the American musician Prince, who recorded a demo in 1984. In 1985, Prince's funk band the Family released their sole studio album, The Family, including the track "Nothing Compares 2 U". So technically an 80s song
thanks for sharing your memories of your friend with us and reminding us of those days when we were either young and/or innocent enough that it was "allllll about the music, man!!!!!"
Now this is a great 80's music mix! Realistically, this mix is what the radio stations would be playing with 80's radio DJ's and commercials. This mix is not like all the other 80's mix that only play the Top 10 hits. Thanks for the reminiscing!
You can't imagine, how much i needed this in my life, on this very day. Positivity and well being to you, brother. πΆβ€ - 80s life forever - β€πΆ
