When I'm in a "looking for dark undertones under every innocent little thing to feel like an adult" contest and my opponent is a Spongebob fan.

@Merry-Ghoul

music make me lose control,
music make me lose control

@shanerussell1486

I… don’t think Spongbobs brain is usually blue

@holdingpizza

I JUST REALISED. The Mouth on the Musical Doodle CD is shaped like a worm. I have no backups on this. But its a cool detail.

@aaronmartin7086

The lines in the song about the straight jacket and the you'll never leave gave me chills.

@Pickoluscage

It seems more like symbolism for drugs like coke or alcohol . Like him going to bed and and then waking up and staying up. Also him jeopardizing his job and relationships. Plus you can make multiple connections to the lyrics. Also him being in pain well quitting.

@TheBobmBoy

This really shows just how deep some of the topics in SpongeBob truly go... SpongeBob wasn't just, OBSESSED with the song, he literally BECAME the song, he was completely taken over because of how catchy it was and the fact it just couldn't stop till Squidward drove it out himself. But then... What the hell would happen after the Earworm takes control of Squidward?

@user_98253

Those are not nerves in his head but veins. The red ones are arteries, the blue ones are veins.

@neco4127

I'm glad earworms are not real. It would've felt so uncomfortable having a worm inside your head that entered your ear.

@7RedIsDread7

As someone whos lived undiagnosed with severe OCD for 8 years I was NOT prepared for the dark turn this video took. I try to ignore it since ive only recently been diagnosed and learned that thats the only way to cope but it never goes away, thats how it works. Im scheduled for my first taste of therapy really soon so this video felt like a sign in all honesty. Really well made.

@chronogaruda2003

Loved this episode as a kid. It was so weird, unnerving, and downright memorable for modern SpongeBob standards.

@xXFoundationXx

What if he got the worm when he pressed the radio to his ear, perfect opertunity to enter spongebob

@yurisato8002

This is one of the few SB theory channels that actually elaborates something interesting instead of just saying what happened in given episode

@Matthew-wb5mt

Oh my god, it’s literally brain rot

@mah29001

Sounds like a job for either the SCP Foundation or the Global Occult Coalition.

SpongeBob Fans:
You think this is funny
Stephen Hillenburg:

OH MY GOODNESS,NICKELODEON

@jimmygarza8896

Something weird I noticed is that the first few times, it's referred to as "[the singer's] Musical Doodle", but then it becomes The Musical Doodle. What if the singer/songwriter got infected by the Earworm as well?

@carolinecheney

The thumbnail IMMEDIATELY put the song Musical Doodle in my head! Haven't heard that song or seen that episode in YEARS!

@chaesgabrielwilliam8632

“You can lose yourself completely and no one will notice.”

“When did the music start playing in your head?”

“Once the music starts, who’s really in control?”

These 3 lines felt incredibly impactful for me.

@Nekophy_

If anyone wants to know the lyrics without having to look for the song, I will assist lmao:

Round and round the record spins all day
Listen again it takes you far away
Trying to stop it is futile
So just listen now to my musical doodle

Think you control it but it’s way too hard
Every time it plays it’s an electric charge
The sound in your head is brutal
Now you’re infected by the musical doodle

Do do do do do do do do
You’re gonna listen again to the musical doodle

The song that you ran from is back again
You wonder if the madness will ever end
Trying to stop it is futile
So just listen now to my musical doodle

Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do musical doodle
Listen again to the musical doodle
