One of the primary tricks that they use is that everything has to be done NOW to fix it because they've made the victim panic. My advice to anyone is that if someone seems to want things done asap regarding ANYTHING financial or legal ... pause, don't take any action, and talk to someone else that you trust.
When you're told to keep something secret, unless it's organizing a suprise party, that's your clue that you need to talk to someone (in this case, her REAL bank and her children).
Banks are NOT responsible if people fail to do their "due diligence" and willingly give their money to others!
Scammers are evil
This is heartbreaking. She should have called her bank on their official number on their website to ask for more information. Never do something so drastic without checking multiple sources including the people you actually know and trust.
Calling him a “trustworthy confidant” is not accurate. It’s sad this stranger tricked her that way. 😔
Always check with your real bank first in person, never trust anything up front…
There’s a special place in Hell.
Im so stomp on how easy is to get money from the old people, they never ask question and they are scared. We need to make them learn. NEVER SEND MONEY TO ANYONE. (without talking to at least 2 or 3 other competent person) Really, it's that easy.
😢 Truly savage. Omfg I so wish karma did happen to these bloody scammers
Why in the world would you send money to somebody that you've never met in person stop doing this people get it together
Only Criminals ask for Bitcoin! My grandmother was born in 2012 and she never gave money to anyone! What has happened to the elderly these days that they have regressed into totally Stupid?
I don't feel bad for these people they should be smart enough to know the system
