You mention soldiers arriving at DLI and then finding out whether they will be a 35P or 35N. All soldiers that go to DLI out of basic are 35P and all that go to Goodfellow are 35N as they have that on their enlistment contract. I haven’t met anyone thus far that was considered a 35W as you mentioned. Also, you mentioned language maintenance. 35P have to maintain a 2/2 on the DLPT in order to continue being “MOS qualified” and receive FLPP pay (Foreign Language Proficiency Pay). The higher you score on the DLPT, the more money you receive for FLPP. Definitely one of the benefits of the MOS. If you do attend DLI out of basic, the language you study will be assigned to you based off the needs of the army in MOST cases. This is based off of your score on the DLAB which you take during your enlistment process. High DLAB scores (above 110) will usually qualify you for a CAT IV language (Korean, Chinese, Farsi, Arabic, etc). These courses are around 50-65 weeks in length are are some of the most intense and academically rigorous training the Army has. Languages like Spanish and French are shorter, 36 weeks. That being said, you’re stationed in Monterey, CA which is a beautiful area with a great variety of things to do outside of language study. AIT is at Goodfellow AFB in TX and can last anywhere from 6 weeks to 17 weeks depending on your language. All in all, the training pipeline for 35P can potentially be very long, in some cases almost 2 years before you arrive at your first duty station.

@thedrangler599

You didn’t mention the DLAB, lol

@marcorwts84

I just enlisted today as a 35p

@ilhamabulehia8744

35N don’t go to DLI because they are not language dependent. 35M on the other hand can go after they graduate AIT. Never heard of 35W. 35P can go just about anywhere depending on what language. If you’re enlisting as a 35P be prepared for the rest of the army to have no clue what you do. DLI is probably the best duty station you can go to with the army. The weather there is great and there is a lot to do. It’s a fun job if you’re good at it.

@ttoms96

Heading out to basic august 6th! Got the 35P MOS, will be heading out to the DLI in November

@Rebel-Forces-Earth-007

Would love to see full vids on 35M Human Intell Collector, 35L Counter Intel Investigator, 31D CID special agent, and 31B MP.

@DavidLLambertmobile

I've read in the recent past: late 1990s early 2000s the hardest DLI languages to learn are Mandarin Chinese 🇨🇳 & Modern or "common" Arabic. 🗣. A lot of US service members wash out of DLI for Chinese.

@ByzantineBent

Can we get 56M next?? Shipping August 26th as Chaplain Assistant.

@M1ke10191

Maybe a vid on the hardest MOSes to qualify for?

@josealanis5815

@wb7926

Love the videos, keep up the good work.

@Bitty_Code

You mention 35N a lot, but don't discuss what they do; what does a 35N do?

@jthavorn

Hey Chris I think I’d be interesting to see a video about which MOS has the least and also most amount of active soldiers.

Also you should consider doing an MOS Monday on my MOS, 92R (parachute rigger) since so many people often ask how you can get into airborne school or have it in your contract. One sure way of getting airborne is definitely by being a rigger. 👍

@Alejandro-uf2vu

Can you do 12w carpentry and masonry specialist?
