@inthemix

I've made hundreds of long-format videos here on YouTube. I wanted to challenge myself to try making some compact versions of my most popular videos. Hopefully, these are useful on their own or they might lead you to dive deeper into a specific topic!

I've been hesitant to create shorts/reels because I personally prefer long-format videos. However, I see the benefit in quickly introducing topics/techniques and tools without having to invest 10/20 minutes in a full video. So this is the start of me trying my best to create useful, high-quality shorts and reels!

For a more detailed tutorial, my full "Voice EQ" videos can be found on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/pjMCyLsRNig

Adjusting the bands as you speak is actually genius.

@agamaz5650

I usually hate shorts because they are a waste of time, but this is an exception, for those who don't this is really amazing, you actually learn something useful in a really short time.

@Lukasek_Grubasek

Incredible how just a couple of tweaks can make such a difference!

@user-ir2bj3re1z

Thanks for this short lesson. I'm fairly new to mixing and sometimes shorter lessons are easier to grasp.

@Nekrome

Literally the best EQ tutorial I've ever watched, changed my vocal mix by a TONNE!! Thank you In The Mix!

@Liatriss

That midrange cut was the biggest change for my current headset. Thanks for the dynamic example!

@dansylas

it took me 3 years of producing to realize how powerful EQs are in shaping and enhancing a sound. EQ + listening to your ears and comparing with references is the difference between a clean, quality sound and an amateur mix

@MATroiano

This format works well. When I have the time to digest long form videos I enjoy them, but in this format, it encourages someone to go practice it now. It makes it sound simple and possible.

@KingKuroTV

This is the greatest short I have ever watched in my life. I completely transformed my sound in seconds. It already sounded fine, but I had no idea what I was doing with QU. Now it sounds FANTASTIC!

@AmonMusic

Weird, didn't get notified. Great to see you're trying shorts though. While I love your long content videos more than anyone else on the platform, sometimes it's nice to just get to the point (especially for those with more experience and knowledge of the plugins).

@therealNPCT

Bro I just got FL and started making beats and I got lucky enough to find you right away πŸ˜‚

@GlitchmanVGM

This is really cool, I like these short tutorials! Sometimes we don't have time to watch a full length video so bite-sized tutorials like this are really helpful and can attract new viewers too! πŸ˜ƒ

@HomerNarr

Nice! As absolute beginner, i noticed how the usage of EQ can boost the vocal sound.

@BlueBandTrEOfficial

This sound so magnificent in the AirPods Pro 4😭πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

@brucerain2106

Need more short tips bro. It’s a cool format. Been watching ur vids for a couple years now, and learned a lot. Much love

@robharry1

Sorry Michael, but seeing you first time on Shorts. Amazing as EverπŸ‘ŒπŸ™‚πŸ‘

@RelievedMusic

Great idea for the video to show it in time! Makes it understandable.

@kgggyjnjjjkkugtttr18

Yes and also remember 1: eq has side effects (specially when boosting) so be careful which eq you use (famous good analog or digital modeled ones are a good bet and linear phase eq is also , but be careful with cheap EQ)
2 objectivity is the most important thing while eqing

@musicbyKECI

Cool format! Would love if you put the before/after in the end of the video ❀
Thanks for your hard work
