As some people in the comments have stated, this is Sun Wukong’s staff. What most people don’t know what how Wukong got the staff (unless u read Chinese mythology). The legend goes that the Monkey King (Sun Wukong) was searching for a weapon to match his strength. Weapons on the surface were too fragile for the Monkey King and broke after a few swings, so he journeyed to the Sea Dragon’s territory to find a weapon fit for him. After testing several weapons that he considered “too light” for him, the Monkey King came across an enormous stone pillar on the ocean floor. The pillar considered as one of the heaviest monuments on the ocean floor. The Monkey King realized its potential to be used as a weapon and picked it up and began to twirl it around like it was a normal wooden staff. The staff, recognizing its powerful wielder, began to obey the Monkey King. From then on, the staff would expand and contract at will, being able to extend several miles high to being able to shrink small enough to fit in the Monkey king’s ear. Having mastered the staff, the Monkey King took the pillar and left the sea. However, the sheer aftermath of swing the pillar around and the absence of the pillar left the sea in ruins, leading to the Sea dragon to call upon Heaven to bring the Monkey King to justice, leading to another part of the Monkey King’s legend. Edit: some of you want to know if there is any media where u can watch this from, there is an old movie called “Havoc in Heaven” (1961) which can be found free on YouTube with English subtitles. I recommend it as I watched this as a child and got me interested in the monkey King legend
Yes picking up the heavy ass staff is what proves he's worthy, not the arrow shot that went around the world and blew up the mountain top.
Anatoly with his mop be like
Wukong: "THATS MY BOY! hey someone get me another immortality fruit!"
This is honestly one of the funniest and wildest animes ive ever seen. Its top tier in humor and wholesomeness
Anime name is the daily life of the immortal king
Bro really went “My fault I was unfamiliar with your game”
Homie out here nonchalantly picking up sun wukongs staff
To all who does not pay attention to anime drawing itself: The number on the staff is 135.000.000 (one hundred thirty five million) Jin (catty), not pound, so that is close to 150 million pound. You don't say "meh" to an arrow shot round the world ( about 5 MegaJoule energy spent) and bend the knee to an act of lifting a staff weighing 15 thousand pound, but you certainly would when the staff is almost 150 million pound and being swung around (at least 10 GigaJoule energy spent), and the one who swings it isn't even breathing hard.
I'm more impressed by the construction crew. Imagine building a floor that wouldn't have a hole punched through it with that much mass in such a small area.
I don't know why, but seeing almost everything being 2D animation, but then seeing the glass falling being 3D made me laugh a bit, might just be late night humor kicking in
Pov you accidentally lift wu Kong's staff with ease
Chinese media not featuring a reference to sun wu kong challenge (impossible)
It's the fact that I saw the old man and thought "damn, Wukong getting on in years"
Thor: Finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary
Me : Picks up a really shiny key I found on the ground in Metropolis. Superman watching me pick up his SPECIAL key that he accidentally dropped : "...um...excuse me...that's mine...but...how exactly did you..."
1.) Source ~ This Shorts-clip is from [The Daily Life of the Immortal King (2020-2024) anime series]. 2.) [0:16] "Let's do this." ~ It is important to know/understand that Wang Ling chose the bo-staff, because Wang was trying to select the weapon he believed that would be the least likely to harm Sun Rong's grandfather, as opposed to all the other deadly weapons in the armory (i.e.: all the bladed weapons). 3.) And on a more objective aspect, selecting the bo-staff was the correct tactical choice. Besides the non-lethality, the staff's length counters the close-range of the nunchaku.
The way he put that staff back got me rolling 😂
