Russia's Rolex Submariner....

Today I take a look at a very interesting watch, a Russian dive watch born in the heart of the Cold War. The Vostok Amphibia is one of the most interesting watches of the last century, a case study in how products differed between the East and West throughout one of our darkest sections of history.

The Vostok Amphibia is not a luxury watch, but instead a practical watch built with an it'll do mindset that Soviet goods frequently used in stark constrast to the consumer first products we found ourselves with on this side of the Berlin Wall.
