Japan Cross-Country Drive part16: Visiting the Great Ginkgo Tree in Iiyama
Departing from Karuizawa Station, I took Route 18 toward Ueda. Then, I entered the Asama Sun Line, enjoying views of Mt. Asama on my right.
After a break at the roadside station "Raiden Kurumi-no-Sato," I continued via Prefectural Route 4 and National Route 406, passing through Sugadaira and heading to Obuse.
After a short rest in Obuse, I climbed up the slopes to Shichimi Onsen in Takayama Village for a relaxing soak.
Next, I descended back to Obuse and reunited with a friend at the Great Ginkgo Tree of Kobe in Iiyama City.
We spent about four days under the magnificent tree, marveling at its beauty.
Here’s the route I followed on Google Maps this time!
