Hello, everyone! Today, we’re diving into all the important dates and details for Zenless Zone Zero’s Versions 1.5 and 1.6. From the upcoming livestream to banner predictions and even a bit of speculation, we’ve got plenty to talk about, so let’s jump right in.
First up, Version 1.5 is set to bring some exciting updates. The livestream is scheduled for January 10, just 10 days before the full release on January 22. Make sure to tune in because you’ll also be able to claim 300 free Polychromes through livestream codes—easy rewards that no one should miss. This version will introduce two new banners alongside two rerun banners, giving players plenty to look forward to.

In Phase 1, we’ll see Astra Yao, a new Ether support character who is a member of the Stars of Lyra faction. She’s expected to provide strong utility for her team, making her a great addition for players looking for supportive roles. Alongside Astra, there’s a possibility of Ellen being the rerun banner for Phase 1.

Moving to Phase 2, Evelyn Chevalier will take center stage. Evelyn is a fire-based attack character, also from the Stars of Lyra faction. Known for her wires and chain attacks, she’s sure to offer an aggressive and dynamic playstyle. The possible rerun for Phase 2 is Zhu Yuan, "though we’ll have to wait for confirmation".
Let's discuss Version 1.6 and what we can anticipate from it. Looking back at previous patterns, Hoyo usually teases the next version with drip marketing just before the current version’s full release. Since Version 1.5 is dropping on January 22, we can speculate that Version 1.6 drip marketing will happen around January 18 or 19. While nothing is confirmed about the banners, there are strong rumors pointing to the introduction of the Virtual Idols faction.

This new faction consists of three members, each with unique designs and abilities. Rokudo Sariel, the leader, is rumored to be a physical stun character who wields dual maces. Her playstyle is expected to focus on disabling enemies while delivering heavy damage. Next is Yutane Johiel, the group’s main singer. She’s rumored to be an Ether Anomaly character with a fascinating ability to transform into a robot, potentially adding an entirely new mechanic to the game. Lastly, there’s Chinatsu Remiel, the lyricist of the group. Chinatsu is an ice support character who provides multiple buffs, and she’s expected to use a megaphone as her weapon during combat.

While it’s still uncertain which two of these three characters will feature in Version 1.6, the Virtual Idols are already generating a lot of excitement, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll shake up the meta.
